The Branding & domain page sets what your businesses see: your name, logo, color and links, and the addresses they open your dashboard at. Every partner gets a subdomain of receptionistportal.com, and a paid tier adds a subdomain of your own website. Owners and admins change this page, and members can view it.

Set your name, logo and color

The Brand section sets what appears in the browser tab, above sign-in and in your emails. Fill in these fields, check the preview, then click Save brand: Your pages show saved changes within a minute, and every email sent after you save uses them. In the Links section, choose where your businesses go for your policies and for help. Sign-in, sign-up and onboarding list these links below the form, and the dashboard’s account menu lists them too:
  • Terms of service and Privacy policy: sign-up shows its agreement line only when you set both
  • Support page: where the support link goes
  • Support email: replies to your emails go here, and the support link opens it when you have no support page
Enter each link as a full web address, such as https://acmeagency.com/terms. Leave a field empty to hide its link. Your dashboard never shows LobbyStack’s links in their place, and it leaves out LobbyStack’s Help Center.

Where your brand appears

Your brand replaces LobbyStack’s on everything a business opens on your addresses:
  • sign-in, sign-up, password reset and onboarding
  • the dashboard and the browser tab
  • the frame of the website chat widget
  • your prospect demos
Emails to your businesses, such as invitations and usage alerts, go out under your name and logo from no-reply@receptionistportal.com, with your support email as the reply address. So do invitations to your own team. Alerts about your pool and your businesses’ usage reach your owners and admins from LobbyStack, since you’re LobbyStack’s customer.

Find your dashboard address

The Dashboard address section shows Your subdomain, such as acme.receptionistportal.com, which you picked at signup. Click Open to visit it. Invitations and every other link in your emails point at this subdomain, even after you connect your own domain, so people you invite create their accounts there.

Connect your own domain

Your own domain puts your dashboard on a subdomain of your website, such as app.acmeagency.com, beside your receptionistportal.com subdomain. Before you start, check these conditions:
  • You’re on a paid tier. On Free, the page shows Your own domain comes with a paid tier, with a Choose a tier link for owners.
  • The domain is a subdomain, such as app.acmeagency.com. A bare domain, such as acmeagency.com, can’t hold the CNAME record it needs.
  • You can add DNS records at the domain’s DNS provider.
1

Enter the domain

Under Your own domain, type the subdomain in Domain and click Connect domain. The page shows its DNS records within a minute.
2

Add the DNS records

At your DNS provider, add each record the page lists. Use the copy buttons beside each name and value.
3

Wait for the domain to go live

The status reads Waiting for DNS until every record shows Found. It then changes to Active, and your dashboard and sign-in pages work on the domain over HTTPS.
On LobbyStack’s cloud, the page lists two records like these: The CNAME record points your domain at LobbyStack. The TXT record proves you control the domain, so nobody else can connect it. If the page lists a third record, add it too. LobbyStack checks your records every minute during the domain’s first hour, then less often. A DNS change can take a few hours to reach LobbyStack. Your domain gets its HTTPS certificate without any step from you.

Fix a domain that failed

When the status reads Failed, the page explains why:
  • If the page says We couldn’t set up this domain, remove the domain, check its DNS records, then connect it again. The provider’s own reason appears under Your certificate provider reports:.
  • If the page says Another dashboard already uses this domain. Remove it to add a different one., another partner proved control of the domain before you did. Remove it, then connect a different domain.

Remove your domain

Click Remove domain and confirm. People can no longer open your dashboard on that domain, and your subdomain keeps working. You have one domain of your own at a time, so remove the current one before you connect another.
