Your businesses pay you through your own payment account, which runs on Stripe. An owner connects it on the Payments page, then owners and admins create packages on the Packages page and choose each business’s package on Businesses. Each business pays in your company’s name, gets its invoices and receipts from you, and you get the payouts. LobbyStack takes no share of these payments.
If the Payments page says Payments aren’t set up here, the deployment you’re on can’t take payments for you. Bill every business yourself, as Bill a business yourself describes.

Connect a payment account

Only owners see the Payments page. Connecting creates a Stripe account for your partner, or finishes one you started:
1

Choose your country

On Payments, pick the Country of your business. You can’t change it later.
2

Open Stripe

Click Connect with Stripe. Stripe asks for your company’s details and bank account.
3

Come back to the console

When Stripe sends you back, the page shows your account’s status. If Stripe needs more details, click Continue on Stripe or Finish on Stripe.
The badge beside your account shows its status: Once connected, click Open Stripe Dashboard to see payments and payouts. In your Stripe Dashboard, you handle refunds, disputes and failed payments, and you choose what businesses can do in your Stripe customer portal. If you disconnect your account in Stripe, your packages can’t sell any more. Click Reconnect to connect a new account. Packages you made on the old account stay listed under Disconnected account.

Create a package

A package is what a business buys from you: a monthly price, an optional setup fee and the minutes and chats each month includes. Prices use your payment account’s currency. You can create packages before your account takes payments, and businesses can buy them once it does.
1

Open the form

On Packages, click Create package.
2

Name and price it

Enter a Name of up to 80 characters and a Monthly price. Add a Setup fee if you charge one.
3

Set the allowance

Enter the Minutes each month and Chats each month, as whole numbers from 0 to 1,000,000.
4

Create it

Click Create package.
You can’t change a package’s price, setup fee, minutes or chats later, because businesses may already pay for them. To sell different terms, create a new package. From a package’s menu you can:
  • Rename it: your businesses’ invoices show the new name
  • Stop selling it: new businesses can’t pick it, and businesses already on it keep it

How a business pays for its package

A business on a package pays at a checkout in your company’s name, from its owner’s invitation or later from Settings > Billing in its dashboard. Its owners and admins click Manage billing there to open your customer portal, where they update their card, download invoices or cancel. Every package renews on the 1st of the month, in UTC. The first invoice charges the rest of the current month plus the full setup fee. The business still gets the package’s full minutes and chats for that month. Each later invoice covers one calendar month. While the business pays, it answers calls and chats up to its package’s allowance. A failed payment gets retried, and the business keeps answering during the retries. Once the subscription ends, the business stops answering until its owner subscribes again. Prices show only in the checkout and on invoices. The business’s dashboard shows its minutes and chats against the allowance. At 80% and at 100% of its minutes or its chats, the business’s owners and admins get an email under your brand. Your owners and admins get one too.

Set overage for a business

Overage lets a business keep answering past its package, at rates you set, up to a monthly cap. Each business starts with overage off. To set it, find the business on Businesses and click Change beside its overage, under the package in the Billing column:
  1. Turn on Allow overage.
  2. Enter what you charge for Each extra minute and Each extra chat, in the package’s currency.
  3. Enter a Monthly cap, or leave it empty for no cap.
  4. Click Save.
Past its package, the business keeps answering until its overage reaches your cap. Then its calls forward to its transfer number or its owner’s phone, and its website chat stops replying. With overage off, the business stops at its package’s minutes and chats the same way. Turning overage off keeps the rates and the cap, so turning it on again restores them. The overage shows on the business’s next invoice as Call overage and Chat overage, with the amount as the quantity at 1.00 each. The cap starts over on the 1st of each month, in UTC, so an invoice that spans two months can bill up to two caps. Your pool limits each business too. A business also stops answering when your pool runs out with pool overage off or at its cap.

Bill a business yourself

Choose You bill it yourself for a client you bill another way, such as a client you don’t charge or one on an annual contract. The business pays nothing through your payment account, and no package limits its minutes or chats. Its usage still comes out of your pool. It has no overage, and its billing page tells its owners to ask you about their bill.

Change the package a business pays for

On Businesses, click Change beside the business’s package, pick another package or You bill it yourself, and click Save. You can change it at any time until the business pays. Once the business pays for its package, cancel its subscription in your Stripe Dashboard first. Otherwise the console says This business has an active subscription. Cancel it in your Stripe Dashboard first. After the change, the owner pays for the new package from Settings > Billing. A business keeps a package you stopped selling until you change it.
