A template copies the setup of a business you’ve already built, so the next client in the same line of work starts from it. Owners and admins save and delete templates on the Templates page, and everyone on your team can see them. You pick a template when you create a business.

What a template copies

A template keeps the parts of a setup that suit any business of the same kind, and leaves out what belongs to one business: The Templates page lists what each template sets up, such as Receptionist settings, Hours and the number of services, rules, websites, documents, FAQs and texts.

Save a template

Save from either page:
  • On Templates, click Save a template, choose the Business, enter a Template name and click Save template.
  • On Businesses, open a business’s More actions menu and choose Save as template.
The template keeps its own copy of the setup and the documents. Changing the business later leaves the template as it was. The business’s audit log records who saved its setup. The save fails when the business has a setting a template can’t hold, such as a rule longer than 4,000 characters. Shorten it in the business, then save again.

Start a business from a template

In the Create a business form, pick the template under Template. The field appears once you’ve saved one. The new business gets the template’s setup, with the name and time zone you enter in the form. LobbyStack reads a sample of each website the template lists. To read the rest, open the business and use its Knowledge page. If the template can’t be applied, the console doesn’t create the business, and you can try again or pick another template. Templates work from the console only. A platform key can’t create a business from a template.

Delete a template

Open the template’s More actions menu, choose Delete, and click Delete template. Businesses you created from it keep their setup.
